There are three ways to dive in the Maldives:

1. Resort Island-based dive shops:

2. Live-aboards with: 10-20 divers per boat:

3. Small Live-aboards: with less then 6 divers:

Resort Island based: They offer you two dives a day and some do night dives. Maldives famous dive sites are spread all across the country, hence you will not be able to explore the best of the country.  You will be diving an area of up to an hour's ride by boat each way! Mostly your dives are limited to the house reef. You pay separately for food and accommodations.

Live-aboards with: 10-20 divers per boat: All dives on the big live-aboards are done from a separate dive boat (dhoni). You will gear up on this floating hotel and then have a 15-20 minute ride to the dive site and back. It usually travel on fixed routes, designed to provide the best diving spots of the country. All inclusive Unlimited diving.

Small Live-aboards: with less then 6 divers: Dive reefs and walls beyond the reach of big live-aboards.  The routes are decided as per clients choice. For the serious divers  the best All inclusive non limit diving safari.
